Andrew is a Chicago native and has been playing pipe band percussion for over twenty years. He grew up as a flourishing tenor and bass drummer for the Midlothian Junior Pipe Band (Grade 4) while learning snare drum. He was promoted to the Midlothian Scottish Pipe Band (Grade 2) in 1992 where he played snare for 9 years. Andrew was then the Leading Drummer for the Chicago Caledonian Pipes & Drums (Grade 2) where he was a founding instructor for their Intermediate and Junior band programs. He joined the LA Scots in March of 2003 and played for one season in the corps under his tutor, Carl Lenny. Following Carl's return to Scotland, Andrew was appointed as Drum Sergeant in October of 2003. He is a sought-after instructor for individual lessons, band clinics and drumming seminars as well as a popular and well-travelled adjudicator. You may find out more about his drumming career and services by visiting ScottishDrumming.com. Outside of pipe bands, Andrew's career is in the Internet development and marketing industry. Aside from the usual music and movies, a glass of wine and a great cigar now and then, he really enjoys travelling for business and pleasure and spending time with his family and friends back home in Chicago whenever he gets the chance. |
